5 reasons why Seefeld's autumn golf is unbeatable
Autumn is golf season – especially in the Seefeld region, Tyrol's high plateau. While fog often lingers in the valley, here is the time to take a deep breath, swing through and soak up the sun. Two contrasting courses, fantastic panoramic views and plenty of space for concentrated play await you on the high plateau. Here are five reasons why golfing at 1,200 metres is so special.
1. Golfing with a resting heart rate
Autumn brings not only colourful leaves, but also relaxed playing conditions. No waiting, no crowds – just clear air, gentle sunlight and that very special tranquillity that allows you to unwind after the first hole. This unique feeling is particularly noticeable on the golf course in the Wildmoos area. The course is gently contoured, easy to walk and offers a mixture of sporting challenge and alpine ease.
‘My favourite holes here in Wildmoos are holes 9 and 14. Mainly because they are so special topographically – each one tells its own story.’
- Club manager Julia Dimke.
Anyone visiting in autumn will see the course glowing in all colours – almost as if nature had really pulled out all the stops before winter arrives.

2. Wildmoos hits the top spot
Some courses are more than just grass, bunkers and flags. Wildmoos is one of them. Nestled in a sparse larch forest, with views of the Wetterstein, Karwendel and Hohe Munde mountains – this is golf in 4D. Every tee shot becomes an experience of nature. According to travel journalist Michael Mastarciyan, Wildmoos is world class.
‘There are many beautiful golf courses in the world – Pebble Beach, Cypress Point, Augusta National, Old Head, Banff Springs... The Seefeld-Wildmoos Golf Club may not be as well known as the ones mentioned above, but it can definitely compete in terms of scenic beauty.’
3. Spoilt for choice
What makes Seefeld special? You get two completely different golfing experiences – but both are top notch.
Wildmoos: 18 holes, alpine, spectacular – pure nature, uphill and downhill, every hole a new surprise.
Reith: 9 holes, flat, central – perfect for a quick round or to start the day.
‘My favourite hole in Wildmoos is hole 1 from the champion tee. A drive through the cannon barrel, then a long iron to the green – and with a bit of luck, you'll start with a birdie.’ – Markus Daschil from the Golf-Hotel Bergland, who also knows the Reith course like the back of his hand: ‘On the last hole (a formidable par 5), you play towards the church tower of Seefeld the whole time.’
And best of all: there are 8 more courses in the surrounding area – ideal for your next golf road trip with Golfbase Seefeld.

4. Panoramic view at every tee shot
Some call it a ‘panorama’, we call it ‘mountain cinema deluxe’. Whether teeing off towards Hohe Munde or putting with a view of the Karwendel massif – here, the view is just as important as the ball. And when the fog slowly lifts in the valley in the morning, while the sun breaks through in Wildmoos, you know that autumn doesn't get any better than this.

5. Seefeld offers more than just golf
Sure, you come for the courses – but you stay for the surroundings. Seefeld is no run-of-the-mill golf destination. It's a place steeped in history, with cobblestone streets and church towers. With wellness hotels, regional cuisine and that infamous Tyrolean charm... And after your round? Head to the sauna. Or relax on the sun terrace with a view of your favourite hole. Or maybe you'd prefer Kaiserschmarrn at the Wildmoosalm? Here, you can enjoy yourself however YOU want.
